Karkala, August 31st, 2025 — The Annual General Meeting of the Dakshina Kannada Garage Owners’ Association, Mangalore, was held in Karkala on Sunday, bringing together members of the automobile service fraternity.
Mr. Shashidhar Pai Maroor, Partner of Maroor Motors, graced the occasion as one of the Chief Guests. In his address, Mr. Pai highlighted India’s growing prominence in the global automobile sector, noting that the country now holds the position of the third-largest automobile market in the world. He further emphasized that as India is poised to emerge as the fourth-largest economy globally, the opportunities for growth in the automobile segment are “massive and promising.”
Mr. Pai also lauded the independent workshop owners for their entrepreneurial spirit. “By setting up your own ventures, you are not only creating livelihoods for yourselves but also generating employment and strengthening the ecosystem through skill development,” he remarked.
The Association, apart from promoting the interests of garage owners, continues to support education by awarding scholarships to the children of garage owners and employees who secure 90% and above in SSLC and PUC board examinations. This initiative was commended at the meeting for empowering the next generation through academic excellence.
